Marcus Jordan to Adidas: Drop Dead

    Per the Associated Press ...

    ----
Freshman guard Marcus Jordan wore a pair of white Air Jordans during UCF's 84-65 win in an exhibition game against Saint Leo on Wednesday night, the Orlando Sentinel reported on its Web site. Jordan has said he will only wear his father's Nike Air Jordan shoes because they hold special meaning to his family.
    -----

Marcus Jordan is Michael Jordan's son. I get it. I understand the loyalty to Nike. That being said, he just cost his team their Adidas sponsorship. I cannot imagine teams are banging on the door of the University of Central Florida's door to sponsor them. I imagine Nike will step up and sponsor them at some point.

But what this really says is Marcus Jordan is putting himself and his family in front of his team and his university. What kind of world is this when the kid of a famous athlete acts like this? It smacks of selfishness and a sense of entitlement.

    What say you?

Exactly, had everything he wanted so going to do what he wants, no matter what the cost is too others. Not for good for his team mates though.

That is what is wrong with kids today, too spoiled and get thier way too much.

i think u guys are gettin the wrong impression here, they have reported that the school told him b4 he signed wit em that he could wear them shoes so if he would of knew ahead of time he couldnt he prolly would of signed sumwhere else.

Well the school messed up by telling him he could do something that would effect a contract without actually checking with a lawyer.

There was a question of whether he'd actually go through with it, but the other night was their first exhibition game and he wore the Jordan's.

As for signing elsewhere because of a shoe, that's dumb in my opinion.

He was previously at Illinois right?

i dont think he played at any other colleges, he's a freshmen but i think he played high school ball in illinois, but from what i understand he told them he would wear everything adidas except the shoes and ucf officials said that adidas said it was ok but adidas said no such agreement was ever made.

look it is a part of his family so i can see where he would want to wear the jordons but he does have certain obligations to the team tough decision
