Re: Tips on common mistakes
[quote=rookie0674;26057]i didn't see it.. i think one of most common mistakes is falling in love with ak, great starting hand, like top 4?
Yes, AK is a very good starting hand, but if the flop doesn't hit FOLD RIGHT AWAY. This way you minimize your loosing. I think AK is a very simple hand to play : put the standard raise preflop and if the flop hits continuation bet, if not fold
PS : AK = Anna Kurnikova - looks good but never wins

Re: Tips on common mistakes
AK and 77 on a 668 flop are the hardest to get away from. if someone else is calling your preflop raise you have to put them on Ax and if in fact your wrong and they have something like TT, then your screwed.

Re: Tips on common mistakes
yeah i agreed. with AK vs 77 on post flop as 668. it's gonna be hard to fold.
eventually one more 7 u hit full house to save ur neck if it hit A and 6 on next turn and river that gonna make u lose or lost by 2 pairs if A or K hit on turn or river.

Re: Tips on common mistakes
I think you should fold AK on a 668 flop to an aggressive opponent who probably knows that his 55 is best here...

Re: Tips on common mistakes
i dont knwo if i fold on that flop . I might see the turn and then decide what i wanna do unless he just pushes all in on the flop

Re: Tips on common mistakes
i think some comon mistakes would be playing low suited connecters and A10 or Lower after being raised preflop. just my opinion but i tend to lose more often in these hands and so do the pros

Re: Tips on common mistakes
well i cant say not to play suited connectors when there is a raise is a bad play because i do it to.. I think the risk is worth the reward

Re: Tips on common mistakes
I think playing suited connectors is a very wise move personally. Straight, Flush, and Straight flush possibilities. Just know when to fold it and when to hold it.
