First time Las Vegas trippers often don't have a clue. You may think you do, but you don't. You see the funny "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas ads", and you've probably heard of the big casinos like the Bellagio. When you're booking a trip, do more than just go with the brands.
You don't HAVE to stay at the Bellagio. (I'm not trying to knock them, they have a fantastic casino and their rooms are just as nice) You don't HAVE to stay at a Harrah's property.
In short,
I booked my trip a long time ago. I'm stopping in Las Vegas for the weekend before continuing on to Hawaii.
My wife and I are staying at the Vdara. Since it's the middle of winter we won't be laying out by the pool in front of the Ray of Death.
The plan is to check in then go out to eat, possibly at the Steak & Shake that just opened at the South Point Hotel and Casino.
