this imo is a dangerous combo.... as a former poker dealer i have seen a lot come in sober...knock a few back....run up a stack... knock a few more....chips fall to floor lol

    Re: Poker and Alcohol?

my name is msjoker and i don't drink or do drugs anymore . since i don't go out and play cards anymore i was terrible when i was a user but now i am not have the time to do these things i don't knock any1 about what they do i ha ve lived a clean and sober life for 8 years now and believe me i had better live poker fun with the people i used to play with. i still would like to go and play with them, but i don't like to go out mush being a homemaker the last live game i went to was in Atlantic city and that was two years ago and i haven't been there since then and i like playing under the influence better than being sober i dont know but like some one else said it is a more bolder approach the hands that i wouldn't call is the ones that i would bet on and i would win now when i tried this sober it sure the hell didn't work so its better when you are high but being sober you wont take that extra risks so to each is own if you like to play under the influence do your thing what ever works for you god bless
p.s. it is sometimes boring playing when not under the influence

i have found that when i drink and play live, i do good but when i drink and play on line, i get impatient. i guess live play ther are people to talk to and have fun with, with no typing involved. try being drunk and typing and playing lol

That's genius!!! I agree drinking is not good, while gambling your money away, but you can definately nurse a drink and use it to your advantage! I've done it ;-) Made a killing that night...
