I personally was rooting for Buchman. He had some skill and when the final table started I thought he had the most possibility to win because of his skill and chip stack. But sadly lost.:(

All the excitement in the air, just to be there would be something else.

Had to laugh at the couple for Ivey.. now he had on his Ivey shirt with a big Ivey button!

They actually showed the video that was posted on here where Ivey mucked his hand this summer.. The look on his face today was cool to see.

Even though I know who the winner is, it is really exciting to watch and see all the action that actually went on.

Well I am going to root for Joe Cada myself.

He is only 21 years old and has a chance to make history by being the youngest player to win the WSOP. Cada is from Michigan and has the chip lead going into the final game Monday.

Besides, Moon knocked out Ivey, so now I really don't want him to win;),lol

Who is your pick?

Well it looks like the dreams of Phil Ivey winning the WSOP this year for himself and many others is gone.

He got knocked out in 7th place against Moon, with AK vs AQ, and Moon's Q came out on the flop. How sad for Ivey and all his many of followers!

I read that he was on FT playing $2000/$4000 Stud H/L within an hour after being eliminated.

Ivey won $1.4 million for 7th place, wow...

Now down to the final 2 .. Moon and Cada, looks like those of you Baltimore fans who wanted Moon to win, might get what you were wishing for. But who knows anything can happen Monday night!

LAS VEGAS - A pair of eliminations at the World Series of Poker main event on Saturday pushed the seven remaining players closer to the title and a $8.55 million prize.

Kevin Schaffel, a 52-year-old cash game player from Coral Springs, Fla., was eliminated in eighth place with the best starting hand in no-limit Texas Hold 'em after he took out London pro James Akenhead in ninth place.
Schaffel got all his chips in the pot with pocket aces against 30-year-old Eric Buchman of Hewlett, N.Y., who called with pocket kings - the game's second best starting hand.
A king on the flop put Buchman in the lead, and the fourth king on the turn made it impossible for Schaffel to win the hand.
"There was nothing I can do. It was a sick flop," Schaffel said. "It's just poker. That's just the way it is."

Schaffel won $1.3 million for eighth place and made each of the seven players remaining at least $104,000 richer.
The win pushed Buchman within a few million chips of Darvin Moon, a 46-year-old Maryland logger who started the day as chip leader with about 30 percent of the chips in play. Moon later lost his lead when he folded to an all-in bet from Steven Begleiter, who leapfrogged Moon slightly in chips. Both were behind Buchman.
Buchman, who began the day in second, was hurt early in the day by a bad beat against James Akenhead, who was later eliminated in ninth place.

Akenhead found a miracle queen on a hand against Buchman to delay elimination and triple his chips, but he lost most of the stack on two hands to Schaffel. He busted out when his pocket pair of threes couldn't improve against the pocket nines held by Schaffel.
"That made it a bit more harsh," Akenhead said. "I'm very disappointed to be out."
He took home $1.26 million for ninth place, nothing beyond what each final table player was awarded in July when they made it to the top of a field of 6,494 entrants in the no-limit Texas Hold 'em tournament.
French professional Antoine Saout started the day short on chips but found himself with a healthy stack after doubling through Moon, who pressured Saout with an all-in bluff while Saout held two pair.
Akenhead's triple-up and Saout's win dramatically altered a session that began slowly at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, with hands rarely going to a showdown where players needed to reveal their cards and only sporadic contested wagers.

Phil Ivey, a 32-year-old poker professional widely recognized as the best player alive today, started the day in seventh place but he had the shortest stack at the table two eliminations later.

But Ivey maneuvered his way for a few million chips, winning three all-in bets uncontested and picking up 3 million chips from Begleiter in one hand after the 47-year-old former Bear Stearns Cos. executive folded to a bet on the flop. He held nearly 15 million chips at the dinner break, about 7 percent of the chips in play.
Play was expected to run Saturday night until two players remain, who will then go head-to-head on Monday night for the title and gold bracelet.

In what has to be one of the surprise stories of this poker year, a 22 year-old part-time poker player from Oak Forest, Illinois, *Dan Livingston*,...

In what has to be one of the surprise stories of this poker year, a 22 year-old part-time poker player from Oak Forest, Illinois, Dan Livingston, has become the latest champion on the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana, just outside Chicago.
Livingston, who recently quit his job working in an auto detailing shop, was among the 249 players who started the three-day $5,000 buy-in WSOP Circuit tournament on Friday. The final 27 players walked away with a portion of the $1.2 million prize pool.
Perhaps most notable of the players who cashed at the WSOP Circuit Event was burgeoning poker professional Dwyte Pilgrim. Since 2008, Pilgrim has made the WSOP Circuit his own personal playground, as he has captured over $355,000 in winnings. Not only has he won two championship rings, including the 2009 Harrah’s Rincon Main Event back in March, but his 19th place finish in Chicago was also his fifth in the last six WSOP Circuit Main Events. The Brooklyn, New York native has 16 cashes on the WSOP Circuit.
Another player of note was Chicago’s Frank “Round42” Rusnak. The newcomer to the tournament poker world was able to finish just off the final table in 12th place. Added to his five cashes during the WSOP this summer (including an 82nd place finish in the $10,000 buy-in Main Event), Rusnak has over $100,000 in live tournament winnings over the last three months.
When the final table in the tournament began on Sunday afternoon, several players were huddled around the one million chip mark. The leader at the start of play, Tom Floros, couldn’t relax due to the close competition from the remainder of the players at the table. Over the next 13 hours of play, Floros was able to stay in contention, but Livingston moved past him for the chip lead when play was down to four-handed action.
After Livingston eliminated Tad Mosele in fourth and Chris Gentile in third, he held a tremendous 10-1 chip advantage over Floros. Floros, to his credit, was able to tread water for 30 minutes before his chips went into the center. On a K-10-3 board with two diamonds, Floros committed the last of his chips with Q-10. Livingston held a flush draw with J-3 of diamonds and took the shot at eliminating his opponent. While the turn didn’t bring the diamond, the river did and Livingston was crowned the champion of the tournament.
Here’s how the final table played out on Sunday:
1. Dan Livingston – $291,749
2. Tom Floros – $180,287
3. Christopher Gentile – $119,556
4. Tad Mosele – $84,594
5. William Schweinebraten – $63,744
6. William Miner – $50,871
7. Joshua Goldstein – $42,881
8. Jacob Bazeley – $38,082
9. Mike Parisi – $35,533
Remarkably, both Livingston and Floros were in the tournament on freerolls. As part of a special promotion, the Horseshoe Casino Hammond gave away as many as four Main Event seats daily to players who were playing cash games on site. Each day for two weeks prior to the start of this year’s Chicago series, one poker table was randomly selected. Then, the players at the table received cards and one player nabbed an entry into the $5,000 buy-in Main Event. Both Livingston and Floros were recipients of a seat via this method, making their respective paydays a tremendous bonus.
As the final table of the WSOP Circuit Event in Hammond was playing out, the next tournament schedule had already begun. The Circuit has now swung to the south of Indiana with a stop at the Horseshoe in Elizabeth. On Halloween, the next three-day $5,000 buy-in Championship Event will take place and crowns a champion next week.

I am going to Elizabeth, IN to Southern Horseshoe of Indiana on the 15th of Nov. for a couple days. Guess I should be going now and try an event, but no time yet. I haven't been to the one in Hammond, it's like a 5 hr drive for me.
