Video,Puter, Texting Craze!!!!!!!!

Don't the young kids get outdoors anymore?? We moved to a new neighborhood and I know it must have kids somewhere, an elementary school is 2 blocks away from our house. I love the sound of playing and laughter when kids are outside but it's dead silence on a nice summer, and or fall day. Where the heck are the kids?? The days of a get together baseball, football game are long gone, much to my dismay. The computer and video games are taking their active youth away, is this good? or bad?. I know I spend most of my waking hours on the computer, playing poker, and doing other things but I'm old (hehe) and can't go play games outside- a good excuse for me. I bet if most kids were out playing games they would be texting at the same time, I have to give them credit for being able to commuicate quite well. I just wonder what is coming next for the future generation, will we ever see kids again outside playing?? The way of living sure has changed since I was a kid and I just have to go with the flow, but sometimes it is hard to accept. I think it is much more healthy for a kid, to at least ,spend some time outdoors playing and getting exercise. I find also that just trying to talk to my grandkids when we are on a trip is a losing cause, the texting with their friends, their nose into a video game, or watching a movie. Times do change and we old folks will just have to adjust our thinking and try to accept the new and modern world we live in. Ok, I'm just as bad with my Poker Games- don't bother me now kids, Granma's winning...........
